If you're trying to decide if you want to use wood flowers for your big day, I'm here to tell you, GO FOR IT BABES!!!
Whether you decide to use a vendor like Forever Florals, or you want to live your best DIY girlie life, wood flowers are definitely the way to go and by far one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day!
Here’s why:
Wood Flowers are very Cost Effective!
It’s 2024 and the entire wedding industry is astronomical!! Understandably so (ya know, inflation and all) but still, is it really worth it to spend all that money on ONE day? For me personally, I could not justify spending thousands of dollars on flowers that would last just a day or so. At the time I worked for a wedding venue and I saw 👏so👏many👏flowers go to waste at the end of the night! I’m not kidding when I say I have probably $3,000 worth of dried wedding florals on the shelf in my workshop. Typically the families will make sure to save the bridal bouquet as that often gets preserved, but aaaaaallllllll the other flowers will more than likely get tossed at the end of the night; bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnières, ceremony flowers, ALL of it. To me that was like throwing money down the drain, so I knew I would be looking for more sustainable options. Me being pretty crafty, I knew I could probably put something decent together on my own and BOY was I right! I ended up spending right around $500 on my wedding florals instead of $5,000 by DIYing them using Sola Wood Flowers. And I still drool over how gorgeous they turned out. If doing it yourself sounds awful to you, don’t fret! There are many small businesses out there (like mine) that can create beautiful florals for you. Though you’ll most certainly pay more than if you were to do it on your own, you’ll get to keep those flowers forever; I say as I loving looking at my wedding bouquet, that’s sat in the same vase in my workshop for the past (almost) 4 years and still looks as perfect as the day we walked down the aisle together!
Wood Flower Bouquets are 100% Customizable!
Have you ever gone to the grocery store or a flower shop with a particular style or color flower in mind but can’t find it? That’s because a lot of flowers are seasonal and can’t be found at all times of the year. By choosing wood flowers, you can completely customize the colors and types of flowers you use in your wedding florals. You want black roses? Done ✅ You want terracotta peonies? You bet ✅ You want a tropical bouquet in the middle of winter in Michigan? No problem! ✅ You can find pretty much any type of flower you could possibly want on a number of different wood flower websites! As for colors? All Sola Wood Flowers are distributed in a natural ivory color, and are dyed using acrylic paint. That means you (or your vendor) can probably mix any color you could possibly dream of! At Forever Florals we work with each bride to create custom wedding florals using hand-dyed flowers dipped in hand-mixed colors chosen by the couple! The possibilities are absolutely endless!
Wood Flowers are F*CKING Beautiful!
Every single wood flower is hand made with love, and so many hours go into creating each piece. And on top of that, they look SO REAL! Every time I do a wedding or an event I get a ton of compliments on the florals and I always say “Thanks so much! They’re made of wood!” any every single time, without fail people lose their sh*t! Whether you are looking from a distance or up close, it’s hard to even tell they aren’t real until you touch them. We also like to use a mixture of faux and dried greenery to really bring each piece to life. And being able to use any color combo under the sun, makes for some pretty extraordinary work if I don't say so myself.
